Point Outline Due to Blackboard by 11:59pm on Tuesday, November 21

In order to ensure that you are making reasonable progress on your research brief, you will submit an outline that identifies the main points you plan to cover in each section of the paper. The main objective of this assignment is considering how to organize the various sources you will be using in a logical manner. You want to focus on leading your readers through what is known about the particular topic and helping them to see how and why this research is important. As a result, deciding the main points you hope to make and how you will support them is essential. Each section of the brief should be included in the outline, and it must include in-text citations and a list of references, in ASA format. You must identify at least 3 current, peer-reviewed, academic sources that you will be using. (For the research brief, you are required to discuss at least 5 sources). A point outline does not have to consist of complete sentences, but you will need to make sure the idea you are communicating is clear for each bullet/letter/number and that you have identified the sources appropriately (or noted where you still need information). Below is a template that you may use for formatting your point outline. Note that some of these sections may need to be adjusted or expanded, depending on the particular points important for your research brief, and you are not required use this numbering system.
