12 Angry Men is a diverting and stimulating movie to show the audiences how different personalities influence in a group. When I am watching this movie, I become more understand the importance of leadership behaviors and cooperation in a team. Therefore, there are two characteristics which I believe are crucial for a successful team work.
Conscientiousness
First, conscientiousness is the most significant element which all teammates should possess. In the movie, because of the weather or personal matters, people just want to vote and gain the final result quickly. Therefore, they can finish and do whatever they want. However, one person has more sense of responsibility. He shows different questions and force others to discuss the case. If all people do not have conscientiousness, they only deal with the case optionally. They will create a mistake.
From my perspective, when people work in a group, sense of responsibility can help them to work and cope with problems together. If no one cares about the job or mission, the work cannot be done positively and they will face failures.
Agreeableness
Agreeableness is the second element which I would like to mention. As McShane and Von (2015) illustrated that agreeableness represents flexibility, trust, tolerance, and so on. Based on these features, team members ought to have agreeableness in order to accept different voice and deal with a problem without bias.
In the movie, all people do not agree with the different opinion. They argue and feel ridiculous in the beginning. By reason of it, I come out an idea. Sometimes, people do not believe what another say it is only because they do not want to believe. If people refuse to accept different viewpoints, team work cannot be completed efficiently. Agreeableness is vital.
It is obvious that we can see as much as phenomenon in the movie. However, when I watch the movie, I consider conscientiousness and agreeableness the most conspicuous factors which I want to describe. To work in a team is hard. Nonetheless, if people can notice these two factors, the team mission can be achieved more effectively and gaily.
