Activity has two parts
Fact Pattern: You and your brother used to work at the powdered metal plant in your hometown but have been laid off due to downsizing and do not expect to return. You have been putting in patios, trees, and shrubs at your home and have helped many friends and relatives do the same. Based on everyone’s encouragement and some funding from family and friends, you are forming a landscaping company with your brother.

- Based on the above fact pattern, choose what type of entity you will form.
- Go to the Pennsylvania Department of State website (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (http://www.dos.state.pa.us/).
- Go to the Business Registration Forms Page. This can be done either through the Business & Charities tab at the top of the page or at the Business Registration Forms link under Key Services.
- Once on the Forms page you can scroll down to see the various options under each business category.
- Select a form to complete (corporation, limited liability company, limited partnership, etc.) based on the business type you chose.
- Complete the form, print it, and save it to your local computer drive.
- Explain your selection.
- Write a post on which type of business you selected and why you selected that form. Your post should be 200–500 words and should include information on liability, taxes, and other reasons for your choice. Be sure to use logical paragraphs and check your spelling and grammar.
