Final project

You will be required to complete a course project, which will consist of a 6-8 page written assignment about a specific ethnic group or race. You will be asked to submit different sections of that assignment throughout the term, culminating in final submission during week 8. In addition,  The assignments associated with the case scenarios should at least be about 300 words not to exceed 500 words and in APA format.Please have each part titled by its part number.

• Part I: Select an Ethnicity and/or Race
• In a 1-2 page paper address the following: What race/ethnicity will you study for this project? What is your interest in this race or ethnicity? What do you hope to learn from studying this specific diverse population? How will you apply what you have learned to prepare you to enter the Human Service profession? Do you have any present knowledge or experience with this ethnicity/race?
• Remember—You must select a race or ethnicity of which you are not a member. The goal of this project is that you learn about a race or ethnicity of which you have limited knowledge.
• Part 2: Past and Present History
• In a 1-2 paper, address the following: What is the history of this ethnicity/race in the United States? What significant events have occurred with this population? Have there been any historical leaders or hero in this group? Provide a brief time-line of this ethnicity and race as it has existed in the United States. Include credible sources where appropriate.
• Part 3: Demographics and other data
• In a 1-2 paper address the following: What percentage of this ethnicity/race make-up the United States population? Has the percentage increased or decreased over the past several decades? What percentage of this population is male vs. female? What is the average age of this ethnic cohort?
• Part 4: Stereotypes, and Prejudices.
• In a 1-2 page paper address the following: What common stereotypes are associated with this race/ethnicity? Are any of the stereotypes accurate e.g. all minority women are on welfare?How have specific prejudicial behaviors impacted this population? Have there been any landmark lawsuits legal or civil associated with discrimination and this specific race/ethnicity?
• Part 5: Traditions and Cultural Nuances.
• In a 1-2 page paper address the following: What traditions, values, mores and social customs are unique to this specific race/ethnicity? Do these traditions or values conflict with the majority culture? Do any values and traditions enhance the majority culture? Be specific. Give examples.
• Part 6: Current Challenges
• In a 1-2 page paper address the following: What prejudices, discrimination or cultural challenges do this race/ethnicity currently face? Have these challenges increased, decreased or remained the same regarding prevalence? Are the challenges internal, external or a combination of both factors? Be specific. Give examples.
• Part 7: Proposals for change

Now that you have had an opportunity to learn about a specific ethnicity/race, you are now ready to offer proposals for change. In a 1-2 page paper address the following: What laws, regulations, or policies would you introduce to help this race/ethnicity address cultural challenges? What ideas do you have to offer that
