As part of your experience to be built, you have to carry out a Bicycle project for a client starting on 19 Aril 2015. You have to define the problem; determine parts, time and the estimated money required. Make necessary assumptions. The following information is available: 1. Obtain components 48 hours – R132000 -Research wanted parts -Order components -Collect components -Stage 1 Milestone achieved 2. Assemble bicycler 24 hours – R1800 -Frame & Steering -Wheels -Crank -Brakes -Gears -Accessories -Stage 2 Milestone achieved 3. Test bicycle 1 hour – R240 -Brakes -Crank -Gears -Steering -Accessories -Stage 3 Milestone achieved The client has requested you to provide him with a proposal presented using the following steps: 1. Define Project objective. 2. Define Completion Criteria (Deliverables) 3. Identify Resources 4. Define WBS 5. Allocate Resources to Task (Activity detail) 6. Create Dependency Relations 7. Prepare Schedule (Gantt Chart) 8. Prepare network Diagram and Review Critical path 9. Set Milestones You have. You have constituted a good team, and have decided to pay as follows: Components expert: (R190/hr.) Assembly expert: (R180/hr.) Test expert: (R170/hr.) Note: Assign resources as much as you can to accomplish all your identified tasks. Requirements 1. All components/ requirements are gathered 2. The report must be submitted in a word document 3. The main body of the report must be no more than ten pages and must be written in a non-technical way readable style. Report Format Use the following headers (necessary for grading). Annexure files must be from MS Project 2013 to get full marks. These must be saved as individual files within a zipped folder – Mancosa PAT PROJECT. 1. Introduction (10) State the objective i.e. why your help is needed. State the project goal, plus any constraints or conditions. Break down the goal into several general services your Company will offer, and the value that each service offers to the clients wedding ‘ 2. Assumed Resources (20) List all resources that will be needed, including your staff. Discuss assumed resources, including client information needed. 3. Cost Estimates (20) The specific tasks needed are given above. Present a WBS and briefly discuss the estimates, where the costs mainly go, and efforts made to save costs. 4. Schedule and dependencies (20) Discuss the project dependencies and list the tasks on the critical path. Discuss the critical path tasks, and methods used to shorten the critical path. 5. Milestones and Deliverables (10) List and discuss the milestones and the deliverables for each. Be very specific about each milestone, including the project finish milestone. 6. Project Control and Risks (20) Explain the general strategy that will be used to manage the project to completion. Project must have at least two phases. Discuss how they connect to each other, and the milestones. Explain why you took this strategy. Summarise 10 most important project risks, and how they will be dealt with if they occur.
