Academic and Professional Goals Assignment
Assignment Directions:
Decide on two (2) Long-Term Goals: The first goal must be Academic the second goal must be Professional.
For the first long-term goal: Academic
Describe the Academic goal in detail, indicating the desired end result and motivations for its completion.
Develop three (3) Short-Term Goals for the Academic Goal.
Address each Short-Term Goal individually and provide:
The steps that you will have to accomplish to achieve the Short-Term Goal using the SMART SYSTEM.
The intrinsic (internal) motivation for its completion.
The extrinsic (external) motivation for its completion.
For the second long-term goal: Professional
Describe the Academic goal in detail, indicating the desired end result and motivations for its completion.
Develop three (3) Short-Term Goals for the Professional Goal.
Address each Short-Term Goal individually and provide:
The steps that you will have to accomplish to achieve the Short-Term Goal using the SMART SYSTEM.
The intrinsic (internal) motivation for its completion.
The extrinsic (external) motivation for its completion.
Additional Directions:
Make your goals actionable by using actionable statements that begin with a verb.
Include your Internal motivations for the long-term and short-term goals.
Include your External motivations for the long-term and short-term goals.
Include an Introductory Cover Page:
Provide your name
Provide a title for your presentation
Include a minimum of 10 slides and a maximum of 12 slides.
Professional Long Term Goals Breakdown
You may use images, clip art, charts, graphs, etc., or keep it simple — once again, you won’t be “graded” on how it “looks” (although I do want you to give it your
best shot based on your familiarity with PowerPoint going into the assignment
What’s most important is to make your presentation “your own” — in other words, I’m looking for you to prepare a presentation that is informative to you and to your
audience.
If you’ve never used Microsoft PowerPoint before, you might want to ask a friend or colleague for some help; also, there is a “HELP” feature built into the program
that is informative
