1. What accommodations are implemented in the general education classroom for students with disabilities? Who makes these accommodations? Provide a list of accommodations based on the categories from the IRIS module completed earlier in the semester. (Hint:Make sure you know the difference between accommodations & modifications prior to completing this assignment.)
2. Are any students receiving completely modified curriculum in either the general
education or self-contained classroom? If the materials are completely modified, where does your mentor teacher get the curriculum from (county curriculum or other sources)?
3. Who works with that student in the classroom? Who accommodates/modifies materials? What learning goals is that student pursuing?
4. Who coordinates assessment accommodations (extended time, test reader, scribe, computer, etc.)? How does your teacher work with students who require testing modifications for in-class testing? For statewide testing?
5. Describe accommodations/modifications made for students with visual and/or hearing impairments in your school. Who makes sure these adaptations are in place? Who makes the actual adaptations (enlarges material, contracts with interpreters, buys equipment, etc.)? ( If you do not see any students with these disabilities ask your mentor teacher about how they would support a student with these disabilities)
6. Do you think materials and curriculum are instructionally appropriate for the students you have been observing? Why or why not?
