Use American history to understand a current or recent event. Cite at least three high-quality newspaper or magazine articles for information about the current event. Be sure to describe the current event and its significance. Then use some good quality history books, including out textbook, to understand the historical background or causes of the current event. You might discuss, for example, what deeply-rooted aspects of American culture help us understand the current event. My textbook is “Give Me Liberty!” Fourth Edition.
