Analysis Global Climate Change Debate

INSTRUCTIONS

Watch the two TED Talks given by former US Vice President, Al Gore in 2008 and 2016 about his belief that human-induced global climate change is not only “an inconvenient truth”, but also his “optimism” that humanity is making giant strides and is capable of weaning itself from fossil fuels and embracing clean, renewable energy and creating a new economy.
Watch Professor Ivar Giaver’s denial of “global warming hoax”.
Watch the 45-minute exchange between the late Professor Stephen Schneider, a climate change scientist, and a roomful of climate change skeptics in Australia.
Read the Bloomberg News report about the United States delegation to the on-going Paris Agreement meeting in Bonn, Germany.
Write an 800-word critique of these various dimensions of the global climate change debate, making sure your paper addresses the following:

(a) summary of the central themes/issues/ arguments, etc. in each video;

(2) two arguments/issues/developments in any of the videos you watched that convinces you to adopt a given position;

(3) the extent to which the ongoing Bonn meeting (see the Bloomberg News piece) is representative of the current state of global environmental politics.
