For Writing Assignment, you may use one or more the following texts, to complete the following prompt below: Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, The Lorax t.v. show, Andersen’s Little Mermaid, Disney’s Little Mermaid, Miyazaki’s Ponyo, Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Baum’s Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and/or the Wizard of Oz film.Aside from The Lorax, all the texts read/watched. It is feature young or adolescent girls as the main protagonist. Compare/contrast the representation of the young female protagonist in one text from each category (a/b/c): a) the nameless little mermaid, Ariel, or Ponyo, b) Carroll’s Alice or Disney’s Alice, and c) Baum’s Dorothy Gale or MGM’s Dorothy Gale.
