History Discussion Post 250 words, DUE TODAY!
Create a short post of about 250 words that discusses the successes and failures of Reconstruction. In doing so:
• Consider how Reconstruction affected the societal institutions in the South as well as the North.
• Analyze the impact of the Black Codes and the other restrictions that were placed on newly freed African Americans in the South.
• Please also discuss how changes to the U.S. Constitution such as the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments excluded women and the impact that these exclusions might have had on the women’s rights movement.
• Finally, also consider how the nation remains divided today, and how this division might bear some affinity with the immediate post-Civil War era.
