Analyze the Stages of Change and Role of Individuals and Society

Analyze the Stages of Change and Role of Individuals and Society

Roughly 3 pages

Addresses course outcome 4:

Apply theories on human behavioral change to overcome personal and social barriers to participation in sustainability efforts

The basis of this project is to apply what you have learned about human thinking and behavior to determine what stage of change two of your classmates are in, and what your thoughts are presently on the role of individuals and society in environmental sustainability, and why.

Throughout the course, you should be thinking about the following topics:

(1) The role of individuals and society in environmental sustainability. Upon which facts, events, or ethics do you base your answer?

(2) Stages of behavioral change your classmates are in. You will be writing your analysis of your own stage of change, and those of two of your classmates for Project 4. The analysis will be from the conversations you have had throughout the course, such as in the conferences and group discussions.

Your Project 4 reports will consist of a few paragraphs for each topic:

(1) The role of individuals and society in environmental sustainability and how you concluded this based upon our readings and class discussions.

(2) Analysis of the stages of change for two class members plus you. What has those classmates said in class that led you to your conclusions about the stage of change they are in?

The grading distribution for this project is as follows:

• Summary of your conclusions on the role of individuals and society in environmental sustainability, citing appropriate course materials and other reliable resources. = 42 points possible

• Analyze the stage of change two classmates are in, with data from our class discussions to support your analysis (which stage, and how you determined this) = 30 points possible

• Analysis of your own stage of change (which stage of change, how you determined this, and what motivated you to change) = 20 points possible

• APA reference for the report = 8 points possible
