artist Jean Ingres, dated 1814 and the second is by Edouard Manet, dated 1863. Both deal with female sexuality differently. Explain these differences, and how the gaze

of each woman is used either as a tool for empowerment or to objectify them as a sexual object. Consider also when they were made, and how women were viewed at this

time in history
