What aspects of the learning environment are affecting

Assignment

You conducted your interview with your project participant and summarized key elements of his or her situation. Review your interview summary to recall the finer nuances of the situation. Then, reflect on your learning from this week’s resources and discussion and consider how the individual’s goals and goal orientations may be playing into his or her decrease in motivation.

Now, building from your interview and your learning throughout this course, conduct a thoughtful evaluation of the situation. Use the Evaluation Worksheet to gather your thoughts. For each area listed in the left column of the worksheet, make notes in the right column about how the participant’s situation relates to that particular area of motivation theory and research. Revisit the corresponding chapters in the course text to further explore each area, including chapters that were not assigned for required reading. What aspects of the learning environment are affecting this person’s motivation? What roles do attributions, goal orientations, modeling, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and self-efficacy play in this situation? How do affect and interest and social learning come into play?

After considering and making notes about all of the factors and influences, prepare a clear and concise, well-organized summary of your evaluation.
