Assessment 3: REPORT Overview
Requirements:
In order to complete this task students will need to have undertaken a series of field-trip observations and kept up-to-date with the set readings and lecture content. More information (including a list of possible tourism destinations) will be provided about the field-trip in the lead up to week 10.
Detailed description of the assignment:
Having undertaken a real and/or virtual field-trip to a key tourism destination, students will be asked to write a report outlining their observations and provide a detailed analysis of these with respect to key concepts/theories covered in the unit. In particular, students will be asked to consider AT LEAST 3 of the following points:
How the destination has been constructed (socio-culturally) as a tourism attraction.
How the tourist gaze operates within the destination and what effect it has.
What elements of embodiment might be promoted or encouraged at the tourism destination.
