Case Study Chapter 11 Managing Health Organizations — In the case study, two individuals are discussing their supervisors. One individual describes her supervisor as unappreciative of the efforts of others and not concerned about helping his employees in their development. The other individual describes her supervisor as one who tries to empower and motivate his employees at every opportunity by setting joint performance goals and allowing employees to structure their own work schedule. The individual with the underwhelming supervisor does not hesitate to send her resume over to the other individual’s organization when presented the opportunity.

Paper: In a 3-5 page paper address the following questions: What are the qualities of a manager who effectively motivates his or her employees? How can an employee improve a situation in which a manager is not effectively working with his or her employees to motivate them and promote improvement? Should employees continuously shop around for more motivating jobs? What loyalty do they owe their employing organization?
