With the improvement in technology, communication has grown. It is now easier and cheaper to communicate and connect with people across the world. The issue of distance is no longer a reason for the lack of communication. The internet has also produced adverse changes in the forms of communications that are available and currently being used. It has led the growth of social networks. Here the people can communicate and share their ideas with many individuals at the same time. Sharing knowledge is easy. To many people, it is observed as a form of entertainment. However, being in social sites improves communication. There are many examples of social sites and it is on oneself to choose the one that they are suitable with. This report describes the company’s blog (CyberSecurity) and how was the design.
One of the problems facing the organizations this time is the security threats. Therefore, our company that interested in the field of information technology, constructed a blog concerned to raise awareness of information security, and called it (Cyber Security). In order to be one of the factors helping to increase awareness and knowledge of staff in information security, as well as exchange views and experiences in this field.
In the beginning, what is a blog? The blog is a website that frequently updated online, whether personal journal or daily discussions. It is a place to express ideas to the world. A place to share thoughts and passions.
In this report, it will be described in detail this blog as follows:
Home Page
According to Nielsen (2002), Any organization’s homepage is its face to the world and the starting point for most user visits. Improving homepage multiplies the entire website’s value. In the blog (Cyber Security) the home page consists of a header, navigational bar, basic pages (the body of the home page), and the bottom of the page.
Header: the header displays the title of the blog with its logo, also there is a button in the far-right of the header for employee registration and log in.
Navigation bar: contains titles of all blog pages with like leads to these pages by click on it (Home, Posts, Authors and About us).
The center of the home page contains the important part of the blog. It is displaying the recent global post about information security. Furthermore, in this part there are more information such as recent statistical and the most popular post.
The bottom of the page contains numbers and email to communicate, also there are logo for the company’s accounts in popular social network such as twitter, Facebook and google +.
Posts Page
This page such as a forum through which employees can put forward their views and their participation and their articles and comment on each other’s posts. The design of this page contains same header and same design in the bottom as the home page. In the center there is a list containing all employees’s posts. In addition, there is a button for adding new posts.
Author Page
This page is similar to the previous page in terms of design, but there is a difference in the middle of the page which contains a list of the authors’s names and their photos. By clicking on the name, the new page will be open contain all auther’s information.
About Us Page
This page contains an overview of the company and the activities undertaken by the company in the field of information technology or other.
Finally, the links and interconnections were placed consistently on all pages where the user can easily navigate between pages through a navigation bar. Also the user can access to any one of the social media networks such as Facebook from all pages, because all the links continuously appear on all pages.
Conclusion
In this era, the social networks play an important role either to persons or organizations. And most organizations worked to provide these networks to assist in the exchange of experiences and share ideas. The company has provided a blog to define and awareness about information security, and to be an important source of knowledge and education for all employees in the company. This report describes this blog and how was the design.
This blog is designed to help attract readers and participants through the simple design and easy to navigate. This blog provides interactive links, suitable designs and easy creates for participation. Furthermore, this blog contains useful information and important resource. All of these features will help repetition and continuity of employees to participate and interact through this blog.
