Bacteria

This does not have to be in APA format post must be at least 500 words in length.

Bacteria, Say the word and many think of sickness or disease and something to avoid at all costs. In reality, the human body is covered in a cloud of microbes the majority of which are beneficial or neutral to humans. In recent years there is accumulating evidence that microbes actually are crucial for maintaining health and may play a role in digestion, immunity (yes really microbes fighting against other pathogenic microbes that make us sick), metabolic rate, neurological disorders, and detoxifying our body systems.

The Objective:

Understand the human microbial ecosystem or human microbiome

The Application: What ?

It is likely safe to say that generally microbes are perceived negatively. For this topic, explore the resources given in this presentation (and others from the web if you like) then develop an idea for a health education plan centering on the beneficial nature of microbes.

The health education plan should contain:

a description of the main objectives (what would you want participants to understand),
an explanation of how you would carry out the education plan,
and who the target audience is.
