Data Gathering Methods

In a simple word document.

1)  Explain your methods of data collection to analyze your subject’s (person’s) skill movement.

I recommend using high speed consecutive photos or high speed video of your movement.
Most cellphones have these features.  No more than 10-30 seconds of video is necessary, and allows for easy download and transfer from device to device. Consecutive still shots are also acceptable but must showcase movement clearly and must be able to be analyzed frame by frame.

There are many APPs that allow for video and photo analysis: Dartfish, Coach’s Eye, Ubersense, or MaxTraq  They are not required but all allow you to break down a performance frame by frame.  Also, they allow you to place lines and draw angles directly onto the video.

If you do not have the ability to personally record an Expert/Pro or a Novice/Beginner then a video recorded by an outside party will be accepted.
(If you are deployed or have limited access to technology, contact me as to the best way to perform this task).

2) Will there be any limitations?
Discuss any issues/limitations you may encounter and how will you overcome those issues/limitations.

3) How will you apply this data collection to your Biomechanical Analysis?
Hint: Insert Biomechanical Analysis Chart developed during Forum Week 6, and explain how you will adapt it and use it for your chosen movement pattern.
