Paper must use references that are scholarly such as peer reviewed journal articles and scientific books with specific page numbers that may be cited. Electronic online sources without page numbers are not acceptable as sources, neither are Wikipedia, online blogs, online newspapers, or other non peer reviewed sources. When writing a paper and when citing a reference, it is always important to make it clear to the reader where you have obtained your information and where the reader can locate it. There should be at least one literary citation for every page of written content and no less than 11 scholarly references for a 14 page paper. The paper structure should begin broadly then quickly narrow to look at your subject. Abstracts and running heads are fine. However, it is not necessary to include a results section. The results section would only be included if there were an experiment with an outcome. The purpose of the research paper is to demonstrate that students can do research using scholarly sources outside of the primary text and complete the written assignment using APA Style. THEREFORE, YOU CANNOT USE THE PRIMARY TEXT AS A SOURCE FOR THE RESEARCH PAPER. The SCHOLARLY SOURCES are important criteria. The paper must be word processed and double-spaced using 12-point font no larger and no smaller, with one inch margins all around. The paper must demonstrate APA style in the citation of references and in the structure of the reference lists.
