The lab report rubric and the lab report details will be uploaded in my account. All the expected steps
are stated in the rubric, please follow it as precisely as you can when writing the report. The answers
to the following questions should be integrated in the report ( in whichever section of the report it
fits):
Writeup questions:
1. How does a buffer system work? What happens when a strong acid or base is added to a buffer
system? Your answer should be quantitative for example, how much strong acid or strong base
could a particular buffer accommodate? How can you tell?
2. What did you learn about your buffer and how might that apply to other buffer systems?
3. How does altering the amounts of your buffer system affect its capacity?
4. Using Mathematica, determine the pH range of the buffer capacity for your buffer system. How
does that compare to your experimental results?
5. What conclusions can you draw about buffers and why buffers are important?
