As all higher education administrators are called upon to do, you will be asked here to present an implementation plan that details how you will address the institutional program changes you proposed in your trend paper. Since administrators are also the public representatives of their institutions, your ability to present clearly, concisely, and professionally is paramount, in addition to attaining your desired outcome.
Recommend effective administrative strategies to improve student learning in relation to current issues in higher education
Prompt: Implementation presentation. Using the research on competency based education, create a powerpoint presentation relevant to a group of stakeholders explaining how you will implement the program changes you recommend. In particular, you will discuss the costs, timelines, communication plans, stakeholders, and technology required to make the program changes happen. Be sure that it is clear what stakeholder audience you are addressing, why they are important to your implementation, and what action you want them to take regarding improving student learning. You should focus only on the program changes relevant to this audience, even though you may have proposed more changes in your trend paper. Your presentation should be concise and professional-remember, you are the public face of your institution.
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
I. Create an implementation presentation of program change strategies that elicits stakeholder buy-in.
a) Introduction: Identify stakeholder audience, the trend you are addressing, and the program(s) you will be focusing on.
b) Recommend effective strategies to implement program changes. How do they address the trend studied in your trend paper? Why should this trend be addressed at this institution? Why are these changes relevant to this particular audience?
c) Describe appropriate communication strategies to aid implementation of program changes. Who are the stakeholder groups (targets of the communication strategies)?
d) Evaluate the technological applications necessary to make the strategies successful.
e) Calculate the monetary costs and resources necessary to implement the strategies.
f) Draft a timeline for implementation based on your understanding of the institution’s readiness.
