Answer the questions explicitly. If we want to know if it sinks or falls, say it, don’t imply it.
Explain your answers, these aren’t true or false questions. “The water level doesn’t change because the block and boat displace the same amount of water”. This is not
an explanation, this is a definition of the scenario. Why do they displace the same amount of water, is it density, buoyancy, etc?
If you are expected to develop a formula, use and show math. That’s how we know you didn’t just copy the internet.
Check your units. This will save you. A lot of the submitted answers had misbalanced equations, or tried to add a volume unit with a mass unit.
Be careful of assumptions. No one said the boat had a specific gravity of 0.4. Plenty of people wrote that the pond level doesn’t change because the block and boat
have the same density. It was because they were both happened to be less dense than water.
Make sure your answers are legible and simplified. We can’t give points if we can’t read or understand the answer. Box your answers.
Be careful with wording. Words like “the pond will drop”, “the volume of water will fall”, and “density displacement” don’t make much sense.
Use ρw in an equation instead of the value.
