Can you tell what percentage of China’s FDI inflows are “capital formation”, what percentage are “portfolio” investments, and what percentage are M&A? (Check the BOP statement for this. Some countries, like the US, may not record this. If yours does not, just cut and paste the FDI segment from the BOP and explain that the distinction is not relevant for your country.) Note that IMF BOP statements typically have these different FDI categories.
