This week marks an interesting anniversary, that of “spam” email messages. The first widely accepted use of spam email was sent on May 3, 1978, as you can read in the article When Was the First Spam Email Sent? However, may experts argue that the use of the telegraph in the 1800s for advertising, which you can read about in the article The Very First Spam? Think about the emails that you (or others) receive every day. Some are useful, and most will be solicited in some way, but many can be classified as unwanted advertising. CLASSIFY the types of email – not just spam – an average user receives in his email on a daily basis. You may use outside sources, but they are not necessary for this essay choice.
