Content
The purpose of this project is to choose a pathophysiology topic that excites you.  Pick a disease process that you want to learn more about.  You will be developing a case scenario based on what disease process your“patient” has.   It should be an evolving case scenario.  You will need to present a brief history (think about things that might be contributing to the diagnosis) and physical (what symptoms might a patient with this diagnosis have), and then how a diagnosis was determined.
Items that need to be included in your case study are:
•    History and physical    (4points)
•    Lab work/diagnostics    (3 points)
•    Medications    (3 points)
•    Effectiveness of treatment (medications or other treatments)    (3 points)
•    Other differential (similar) diagnoses    (2 points)
•    Pathophysiologic diagram     (10 points)
•    Reference page in APA format     (3 points)
An example of a diagram for how asthma may cause hypoxemia is attached.  Whatever topic you choose, it should go from the basic physiologic abnormalities to the patient’s symptoms.  I will be happy to review these before you submit your presentation.
Here are some suggestions of diagram topics that might fit with your chosen pathophysiologic topic.
