? Reflective insight into the use of the methods
Format:
? Introduction
? Defining Focus Group (with reference to textbooks and articles on research methods)
? Defining Nominal Group Technique (with reference to textbooks and articles on research methods — No need to provide the implementation stages as was originally developed for organisational decision making and not for Educational research)
? Focus Group: Strengths and Limitations (using a range of theoretical and empirical literature)
? Nominal Group: Strengths and Limitations (using a range of theoretical and empirical literature)
? Reflective insight into the use of the methods (A comparative experiment):
? I have done a study on Nominal Group Technique (attached) with 14 participants and this study and the findings needs to be explained while comparing with Focus Group
? A similar study on Focus group needs to be conducted with 5 participants on the same topic and then both studies need to be compared with emphasis on strengths and limitations of both the techniques.
Critical Analysis Section
Conclusion
Please note: I have already conducted the study on Nominal Group Technique, so a Focus Group Study based on 5 participants (parents of pre-school aged children) and on the same topic needs to be conducted in order to do a comparison of the strengths and limitations of each technique.
PLEASE NOTE: Use references for whatever you say. My profile ? A student researcher.
Please Note: This essay relates to a comparative study between NGT and Focus Group for EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH. As an example I have attached a PDF but this is for reference only as because this is based on marketing research and I am supposed to write on Educational Research.
Please note: Nominal Group Technique for educational research is totally different from the original conception of its use for managerial decision-making. So, write accordingly.
