Â

Introduction

Â

This is the final project for the course, in which students will demonstrate their understanding of and abilities with the different research techniques and methods learned this semester. You turned in your topic proposal and have done some development and research on the topic in the past few weeks, so you should continue to focus and build on the persuasive argument defending the thesis/position you’ve taken on the topic.Â

Â

Activity Instructions

Â

Create a blog using a chosen 3rd party platform (ex. WordPress, Tumblr, Wix, Blogger, etc.) that is approved by your instructor. Using this platform, compose a multimodal, persuasive project of at least 1,500 words AND at least 3 minutes of audio or video. The project must use a combination of text, images, and video or audio to illustrate and support your claims. Like more traditional academic essays, you will need to use APA in-text citations and an APA formatted References page on the blog. However, ALL OTHER DESIGN CHOICES ARE YOURS.

Â

Remember that your design choices are rhetorical: the physical placement and content of each text block, image, video, audio file, and/or hyperlink should directly support or illustrate your argument and/or discussion points. Also keep in mind that your multimodal project should be user-friendly, meaning that you will want to double check the functionality of your audio and/or video files and hyperlinks, as well as checking color resolution and font size/type in different web browsers and/or screen settings.

Â

Students may use a medium other than blogging with advance instructor approval; you could compose a comic, be creative and innovative with PowerPoint or Prezi, create a video, etc.Â

Â

Requirements (APA format)Â

Â

·        1,500 words, and minimum of 3 minutes audio and/or video

Â

·        Web presentation appropriate font

Â

·        Text, images, and audio and/or video

Â

·        Must take a stance with relation to your topic and attempt to persuade readers/viewers

Â

·        Address at least one counterargument/position with the presentation or production of counter-images, words, and/or voices.

Â

·        Include at least 5 quality sources and give APA style references. At least 2 must come from scholarly resources (you should use the research you gathered for your Annotated Bibliography)
