You work for the legal department of a large company as the newly appointed Legal Advisor. Aware that there have been a number of changes in the area of consumer protection law and increasingly aware of the implications for businesses that do not adhere to the legal requirements of the law when dealing with consumers, the Board of Directors has asked you to conduct some detailed research on consumer law areas that may impact on the company and its customers.
You are required to prepare a report/advice on TWO areas of consumer protection law that will impact on the company. Your analysis of the issues should explain the law in question; should demonstrate how these issues will impact on the company and any advice you would give to the company to minimise any potential legal risks.
Your research/analysis should discuss relevant law (e.g. legal principle, legislation UK and or EU and any relevant case law. You should identify the relevant classification of law as well as the method of dispute resolution. You must reference sources used in the body of your report and within the bibliography.
