Can you please help me with this ONE-PAGE “continueon probation (COP) letter/ essay”?
I am unsure if I will clear my academic probation.
I do not want to get dismissed by the University.
I am studying applied math at the University.
I am in my third year and next year will be my senior year.
I have worked so hard to get this far, and I do not want to lose everything that I have gained from the University.
My mom was sick so I had to take care of her.
She is fine now so I can focus on school and I do not need to spend much time with her 🙂
I am not good at writing.
Can you please make it simple, clear and polite and also make sure everything I mentioned will be on this letter/ essay please?

1. Why you were unable to clear probation, including any exceptional circumstances outside your control.
– My mom was sick so I had to take care of her and spend time with her.
– It was hard to balance between school work and family issue.
– I was stressed out because I knew I was on probation, and I had to do good in my classes. Also, I needed to spend time with my mom.
– Had to deal with my emotions. I did not want to talk to anyone about my issues because I felt ashamed of myself and I was also depressed.
2. Any pertinent issues you have not previously shared with a College Adviser.
– I had to spend much time with my mom and take care of her, and that affected my school work and my emotion.
– I did not feel like talking to anyone because I felt depressed.
3. Steps you have taken this semester to clear academic probation (e.g., campus resources used, reducing work hours, participating in study groups, etc.)
– I reduced my work hours
– I started studying with my classmates and asked them for help.
– I went to libraries and read books that are related to my classes.
– I tried to balance between school work and family issue.
4. How you would clear academic probation if granted another term, including resources you plan to use.
Here is what I would do if granted another term :
– I would definitely spend more time on my school work
– Go to my professors’/ TA’s office hour more often whenever I need help.
– Study with my classmates/ form a study group.
– Talk to a therapist when I feel depressed or stressed.
– Talk to a college advisor and major advisor once every two weeks to make sure everything is going well.
– I would also make a study schedule for school work.
5. The courses planned for the continued on probation semester.
– Math 123, Math 104, and Math 126.
