Significance The purpose of this research study is to investigate the correlation between the high incidence and prevalence trends in tuberculosis TB infections in Monrovia and rural-urban migration drift in Liberia. Although a many studies lot of research has have examined the effects of refugees and immigrants on the spread of TB, not much has been done on the effects of rural-urban migration as causative factors on the spread of tuberculosis.

By studying these relationships, public health professionals in Monrovia, and in Liberia generally, will be able have the ability to design interventions programs that are aimed at addressing the variables that have the highest correlation levels. The study will help to determine the impact of migration on rates of TB infection, which will be important to the health care system in Monrovia in terms of planning for the influx of people that migrate from the rural areas to the city.
