Criminal Justice

Question 1

We’ve all seen them – those social media posts about someone stalking their child in WalMart or the urban legend about gang members and flashing your lights. The most current ones going around are the people “scoping out” shopping centers for women/children who are by themselves so they can abduct them and put them into human trafficking. Social media has seemed to draw increased attention to crime – whether real or imagined. But, what about using social media for crime prevention?

This is a multi-part question. First, tell me what you think about these social media posts on potential crimes/predators. Do you even pay attention to them? Do they scare you? Do you think they are real? Second, talk about how social media can be used in crime prevention. What forms of social media are used? What type of crime prevention campaigns do you see? How extensive is the adoption of social media in law enforcement? Do you think it is/can be effective? Feel free to provide links to some examples.

Yes, this question is part opinion. But, you should back up your opinion with facts from your text. ONLY  use references from the text book
