DescriptionCross Cultural Comparison (CCC) Paper:
The paper must conform to the guidelines outlined in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.). The CCC paper should be typed, double-spaced and between 3-4 pages of text (body of paper not including references and cover page, etc.) . Be sure to follow the criteria for the paper, listed below.
Comparing information from printed material:
Read two of the Stone chapters on disability and specific cultures (Jamaican: Chapter 5 & Dominican Republic: Chapter 9) and compare the response to disability from these cultural perspectives. Compare how these perspectives are similar to or different from the U.S. culture.

The CCC paper you should:
1. Identify and state the reasons you selected the cultures or individuals to compare
2. Compare and contrast these two different cultural perspectives on disability (causes, history, roles of persons with disabilities in society, services available, etc).
3. Compare and contrast these two cultural perspectives with the U.S. view of disability
4. Identify any positives and negatives of the cultural perspectives based on your opinion or that can be supported by research.
5. Discuss what you learned and how you will use this cross cultural knowledge to work more effectively with persons with disabilities.
