(This video is little more than a slide show of old Ziegfeld Girls from the 1920s. Ziegfeld ran a Broadway show called “The Follies” in which he featured beautiful, semi-nude (occasionally completely nude) showgirls. Some of these women became stage or screen stars, many of them remained in the chorus. The 1920s were a period of extremes — a large percentage of the populations of the United States and Europe were under the influence of drugs (cocaine, heroine, opium, marijuana) or alcohol — a period often referred to as the Great Binge.
