The Crusades were a series of Holly Wars started by the Christian states of Europe against the Saracen ( a Moslem during the time of the Crusades).The purpose of the Crusades was to at first release the Holly Land, in particular Jerusalem, but also seizing Spain from the Moors, the Slaves and Pagans from eastern Europe,and the islands in the Mediterranean.
Interest in Arabian goods helped growth of trade and learning between Europe and Asia. The Crusades helped lay the foundation for the coming Renaissance movement.
