Describe the concept of “Whiteness” and how would it apply to German, Irish, Italian, and Polish Americans? In what ways do these groups differ in light of ethnic diversity? The concept of “Whiteness” is also evident in the treatment of Native Americans in the U.S. through the Reorganization Act. Furthermore, sovereignty and individual identity is of utmost importance in the various Native American communities. These tribal nations have exercised collective action to uphold their sovereignty and identity. In what ways has the concept of “Whiteness” affected our Native American neighbors and in what ways would you join collective action to support society’s pluralism, social and environmental justice as it pertains to the treatment of and interactions with Native Americans?
