Basic Building and Distributing Surveys ( https://youtu.be/hWM1z4uBP1U ) Video is 28 minutes long. Skip to items of interest for your survey
NOTE: Qualtrics recently updated their software so the items shown in the above videos may be slightly different. All information is there – it is just rearranged. Explore the Qualtrics interface which will help you get familiar with Qualtrics to do this project.

Note: As a University of West Georgia student, you have a license to use Qualtrics software. Do NOT use the textbook access code.
The UWG/Qualtrics website can be accessed by using a special URL given below.

(Use your UWG login/password. NOTE: Do NOT use your whole email id as username. Use only the first part before the @ sign. For example, jdoe@mywestga.edu will use username: jdoe )

If you have trouble logging in, contact the UWG Help Desk (678-839-6587). Mention to them you are having a problem with Qualtrics for which UWG has a site license.

What is Qualtrics?

Qualtrics is web-based software which can be used to develop and host surveys. It can be used for market research to collect data from customers, partners, suppliers etc. Qualtrics can also be used to analyze the collected data for benchmarking, advertisement testing, and customer surveys. Some examples of analysis that can be done once data is collected include cross tabulation, hypothesis testing, frequency distribution, and conjoint analysis.

For example, Proctor & Gamble tested alternative bottle designs of products such as Tide, Crest, Gillette, Olay, Pantene, Folgers. The goal was to identify the perfect balance between consumption and delight. One could not be sacrificed at the expense of the other. Using Qualtrics, P&G easily created customized surveys to collect feedback from study participants and combined that with actual consumption data from digital scales used by participants at home. Qualtrics helped P&G deliver beautiful, engaging surveys for participants to complete accurately on their tablets, smartphones, or computers, whether online or offline.

Project Objectives: This week you will design your own Qualtrics survey and make it available on the Web.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

Your company has been contracted by Apple to determine customer loyalty and satisfaction of iPhone users. Data will be analyzed and used to market the upcoming iPhone models. You have been tasked by your Marketing Manager to create a 20 item survey in Qualtrics which measures aspects of customer loyalty and satisfaction.

SEE Chapter 7 for details.

Make sure there are no spelling/grammar errors.

Brief introduction to the survey and its purpose
Demographic Questions (3 questions)
Personality/Lifestyle Questions (3 questions)
Attitude Questions (3 questions)
Awareness/Knowledge questions (3 questions)
Intention (3 questions)
Behavior (3 questions)
Other – your choice questions (2 questions)
There must be 5 questions each of Nominal Scale, Ordinal Scale, Interval Scale, and Ratio Scale (See example on Page 85).
Total Questions in your survey = 20

Login to Qualtrics from the website listed above to create your survey. Once the survey has been completed, you will do the following:

Publish the survey which can be done by selecting Distributions -> Web (i.e. Status should be ACTIVE) so anyone can access it over the web. Note the URL of your survey which you will include in the Word document to be submitted.
The survey you will submit in must be in MS-Word format. Qualtrics allows you to export the completed survey in MS-Word. Look under Tools, scroll down till you see “Export survey to Word…..” (leave all options selected) and save this file to your computer. Open the MS-Word file, enter your name, date, and URL of your survey.
Save the file as “Yourlastname_Firstinitial” (e.g. SmithJ) and upload to Dropbox.
