Develop/Outline an Information Reliability Systems Policy for Johnson & Johnson Company
Your organization needs to develop an information systems reliability policy. You’ve taken a look at the policies of several other like organizations, and you know that before you write anything, you need to be clear about what you need to make certain is covered.
The key questions are:
• For what issues must your organization develop policies?
• What kind of procedures might be needed?
• What issues will your organization need to take into account in order to write these policies?
• Are the any value conflicts? Potential conflicts?
• How do you think these issues should be resolved? Can they be resolved?
Keep in mind that policies are the guidelines or procedures used to carry out a strategy. Strategies are the broad actions describing how objectives can be achieved. Objectives are the desired results.
Note: You are not writing the policy for this assignment. Instead, you are preparing a position paper (approximately 750 – 1,000 words) which will provide the background information and clarification that could be used for the development of the policy.
There are values which may be in direct opposition to other values. There may be tensions and/or tradeoffs. For example, is it necessary to give up some security to gain more reliability?
