1.Referring to “Minds on Fire: Open Education, the Long Tail, and Learning 2.0” by Brown and Adler, describe the key differences between social learning and the traditional Cartesian view of knowledge and learning? In your response briefly explain how Learning 2.0 exemplifies the principles of social learning.
2.Technology is transforming the way in which we learn. Referring to the article “Minds on Fire: Open Education, the Long Tail, and Learning 2.0” by Brown and Adler, describe some of the ways that virtual environments and social networks can be utilized for learning. In your opinion, what are the strengths and weaknesses in these types of environments. In your response, briefly describe one strength and one weakness.
3.The Internet has undergone several transformations since the original World Wide Web (Web 1.0) was popularized in the 1990’s. Web 2.0 includes new participatory interactive tools such as blogs, wikis, social networks and content sharing sites. After reviewing the Brown and Adler article, describe how Web 2.0 supports Learning 2.0. According to the article, how can a Learning 2.0 approach to building student knowledge meet the needs of the 21st-century job market and increase both student learning and engagement?
