Please answer the following questions by reading this book On The Genealogy of Morals.

According to Friedrich Nietzsche, our conception of morality is the product of a slave revolt. With its success, man’s development became chained to corrosive conceptions of what it means to be good and evil. In an essay, explain how Nietzsche describes the process through which this transformation came about. What earlier form of “morality” have we lost as a result? What have we gained? Assuming that Nietzsche’s description is correct (and there is reason to believe that it is), do you think morality is important for contemporary life? Why/why not?

[Helpful Hint: It is important to describe not only the process through which morality developed, but also to show what came before it. Make sure you explain both aspects of Nietzsche’s analysis. Also, remain mindful of what Nietzsche himself says about what we have gained/lost via the development of morality.]
