This week we focus on understanding the power of Net Present Value methodology in evaluating various alternatives and in deciding on the best alternative. There are several questions that you can bring up in this discussion forum
Why is the tool so powerful?
What are its shortcomings?
What are other alternative methodologies presented in the chapter and how does NPV stack up against them?
Have you used this methodology in your work or even in your personal decision when selecting amongst alternatives?
Provide some examples from work or from current news, or the business case that you are working on to highlight the use of this methodology.
Do not attempt to answer these questions in short sentences, as if these are assignment questions. They are not. These questions are given so that you can ponder and reflect on them over the course of this week.
