Elements of interpersonal communication

The key elements of interpersonal communication are transmitters, receptors, messages and channels. Sometimes there are barriers to interpersonal communication, such as cultural and nonverbal barriers.

For this assignment, write a paper that addresses the following:

• In your own words, describe the core elements of interpersonal communication. In your experience, where in the process is communication most likely to break down? Provide an example.
• Have you ever experienced a cultural barrier to communication? If so, how did you overcome the barrier? If not, how would you try to overcome such a barrier?
• Provide an example of a nonverbal barrier to communication that you have encountered either at work, at school, or in your personal life.
