Read over the Concentration Areas Worksheet, then research each of your two concentrations and complete one Worksheet for each concentration (so you will complete two Worksheets). Please use the Worksheet for your Outlines. For those of you in Organizational Studies, you will complete one outline on Organizational Studies and one outline on another discipline in which you have background.
After addressing worksheet questions for both concentrations you will need to write a 3 page Common Ground Essay (double-spaced) explaining how your disciplines can be integrated into your career goals (for those of you in Organizational Studies, here you can focus on how Organizational Studies relates to your career goals). In this essay I would like you to explain how some specific perspectives, concepts, theories, skills and/or methods from both disciplines interrelate to your career goals. If you are unsure about a possible career, then discuss 2 or 3 options–please be specific, not general, in your discussion. I am looking for a well-integrated, unified essay: do not simply copy what you wrote on the worksheets.
So for this assignment you will be submitting 2 worksheets and one 3 page essay, all in 12 point font. (You must submit all 3 as part of 1 file, for ease of grading: do NOT submit three files.) All quotes must be in quotation marks, and sources of quotes, paraphrases and summaries must be cited in-text, with an accompanying bibliography or reference list in APA or MLA style. A title page or reference list do not count as part of the 3 page minimum for the essay. The essay should be double-spaced, in 12 pt. font, with one inch margins. Please revise, edit and proof all writing for organization, mechanics, spelling, word use and fluency.
*Note: You will need to do research to complete the two Concentration Worksheets and the essay. Introductory textbooks, BIS 300/394 or other class notes, University websites, credible internet sources and faculty are good sources for information. However, be careful to write in your own words. Also, note that this assignment takes considerable time, so don’t wait until the last minute to complete.
