Choosing the Best Course
The training course that would be best for you depends on your situation. For example, if your job is to deliver narcotics to pharmacies, you may want to take a handgun safety course so that you can defend yourself while on the job. On the other hand, if your job is traffic control then a handgun safety course will not be very useful to you but a traffic-flagging course would be very useful in keeping you safe while on the job.
Choosing the right Certificate
If you will be working as a Safety Director at a company, or even if you were planning to be a project manager it would be a good investment to be either a Certified Safety Professional or an Occupational Health and Safety Technologist.
Training
It is always a good idea to have training in your profession, but in addition to that other training is always a plus, such as Red Cross CPR Training. You never know when you could save someone’s life by knowing the correct way to give CPR.

Handgun Safety
Handgun Safety is very important for not just young educated people but everyone. You need to know how to handle and operate a firearm so that you will not be putting yourself or others at risk. The most popular and simplest rule of handgun safety is to use common sense and be responsible. You don’t necessarily have to be educated to know how to properly practice handgun safety. Experience plays a huge role in handgun safety. If you have grown up around guns your entire life and been taught the right ways to handle it then the only need to take the course is to legally be allowed to carry a gun.

Certified Safety Professional
This certificate shows that an individual has met education and experience standards, has demonstrated knowledge that applies to safety, and continues to meet certification requirements. This clearly shows that all three: education, experience, and knowledge play a big part in this certificate.
Occupational Health and Safety Technologist
This certificate shows that an individual can safely assess worksites and determine risks, potential dangers, and providing safety plans to ensure that worksites will remain safe. Here education plays a larger role in the certification process because you need to be informed on the dangers of a worksite that you need to look out for. It can come with experience but at some point one needs to be taught the dangers to look out for.

CPR training could quite possibly be the most important training that an individual can take. It is something that everyone should know. This doesn’t apply to a specific workplace or job but to everyday life. You could be walking down the street and see someone that needs breathing assistance and CPR would help them. The education would play the most important role in CPR. While experience would be good, you first have to know what you are doing before you can actually perform it.
