Environment & Public Health:

Environment & Public Health: Movie

Hi scholars, I have a film review:
Food Fight: The Debate over GMO Labels
You can watch the video at http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/food-fight-debate-gmo-labels/

Below is the prompt:
There are lots of ways to share information in the hopes of changing minds and (ultimately) public policy; one effective way is through media…after all, you are almost in HOLLYWOOD!

There are 100s, if not 1000s, of relevant environmental or public health documentaries made, posted, and worthy of viewing. For this next HW assignment, I invite you to select one, watch it, and then report back to the class about it.

Is you don’t have an immediate way to access some (the library, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, a friend, etc), you can go to www.topdocumentaryfilms.com for a broad selection of some really interesting presentations on a number of relevant topics.
1) Pick one of them with an EH or PH theme, and watch it.
2) What the basic theme/plot of the film you viewed?
3) Look for examples of “Bending Science” in the documentary you select. Was it done? How did they do it?(How do lobbyist’s manipulate science to change the way data is interpreted?)
4) What were the take-home messages from the documentary?
5) How convincing was it?

Write a short report (1-2 pages) answering these questions, and email your completed assignment to me, before class, to avol@usc.edu.

Come to class prepared to talk about your documentary, and we will try to provide enough time to hear about all the interesting films that were viewed.

Order from us and get better grades. We are the service you have been looking for.
