In this course you’ve been exposed to a number of topics and concepts concerning the role of technology in society. The purpose of your term paper assignment is to take a deeper dive into an area of specific interest to you. For this reason, the subject of your paper is your choice, but it must deal in some way with the interaction of technology and society.
You may wish to research a specific technology and how it’s development was influenced by society. You may wish to study how a technology has influenced society. You may prefer to research one of the more philosophical concepts such as technological determinism, technocracy or social construction. You may use examples from modern society or case studies from history. The most important aspect of your selection is that it is something you are interested in – ideally it should be a topic you’re passionate about.
