1.In talking about Standards of Care, describe in detail a situation or event where you were witness to, whether in your professional role or as a student, where the standard of care was not met. What was the outcome? What could have been done to prevent the occurrence?
2.In detail, what are the differences between negligence and malpractice? Provide an example of each.
3. List the common areas of Nursing Malpractice listed in your book. Choose 3 of them and provide a scenario which you have been witness to, either as a professional RN or as a student. What policy or procedure could be instituted to have prevented the occurrence?
4. What are the main differences between Nurses as Fact Witnesses, Expert Witnesses, and Witness to Documents? What qualifies a nurse as an expert witness?
