To get the Civil Rights Act passed, and over the objections of many civil rights leaders, LBJ had to drop the guaranty of voting rights. By 1965, activists in the civil rights movement “took to the street” to demand a voting rights bill. This movie focuses on events in Alabama when Selma became a central focus and efforts culminated in the march from Selma to Montgomery.
