Excel Exercise:
Each student is required to complete an excel exercise involving a 12 month
projection of the 2017-2018 budget for the U.S. Department of States(US. Department of Defense) (HHS). (1) You must use class
discussion on “Excel for Budget Projections” to forecast the expense values missing from the
document “Excel Exercise Budget of U.S. Department of States” . The expense items in the document are Human Resources, International
Conferences, Diplomatic Support, Security Programs, Regional Affairs, Conflict Stabilization,
Public Diplomacy, and Foreign Service Institute. (2) You must systematically use the
Instructions for Excel Exercise that are under the Excel Exercise Module (a) to format your
worksheet and (b) to find “Total Expenses”, “Total Receipts”, and “Differences!!!” for each
month. (3) With the exception of the missing values, your finished excel worksheet must look
like the finished worksheet on page 7 of the Instructions for Excel Exercise
