Express the image that you would select to present/ English
Artifacts are personal objects that we use to announce our identities and to personalize our environments. In effect, we personalize spaces though the use of meaningful objects. Follow these two steps to complete your 1-page written assignment:
1. First, consider an artifact that is prominently shown by a friend or co-worker – either at home or in some other space. In 1-2 paragraphs, describe how this artifact has influenced your interpretation of this person’s identity. Is your perception more negative or positive because of this artifact display? Why?
2. Second, think a prominent artifact that you show in your home or in your workplace. In 1-2 paragraphs, examine what message about your identity that other people are likely to infer from this display. Does this artifact express the image that you would select to present? Why or why not?
